About this Lab

Sad news, friends. We’re at the very end of semester 4, and this lab is a series of updates from some of our favorites over the past 50 weeks or so.

Update from Lab 041 and Lab 062

  • Since recording Lab 041, we’ve seen the overturning of Roe vs. Wade

  • It’s not just abortion access that is under attack, but the right to contraception too

    • Elizabeth Ruzzo: “What this means is that birth control is more important than ever, especially in states where abortion is now or will soon become illegal.”

  • What can we do about it? Election Day is coming up:

    • Simone Taitt: “I encourage everyone to go to the polls and vote for your local and state level legislations in the way that protects your rights.”

Update from Lab 051:

  • Xavier Jernigan shared what is going on in the world of HBCU’s, college football, and homecoming season:

  • Drama between Jackson State coach Deion Sanders and Alabama State coach Eddie Robinson Jr.: Who is SWAC if I ain’t SWAC?

Update from Lab 038:

  • An update since our conversation about anxiety with neuroscientist Dr. Wendy Suzuki

  • An advisory group called the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommended that doctors screen all adult patients under 65 for anxiety

  • Recently they have also recommended it for children over eight to be screened for anxiety, too

Update from Lab 079

  • New developments since our conversation with Dr. Vanessa Perry about inflation

  • Just a few weeks ago, the Labor Department released new data showing that consumer prices have been rising more quickly than expected

  • JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon warned of "very, very serious changes in the economy"
